Sumo Robots, Python and Stop Motion Animation Martha’s Vineyard

Come join us as we teach Python Coding and graphical robot programming with our LYM robots. Children will learn how to navigate their way around a course by detecting obstacles to their left or right, follow a line or stay within a border. The course will include several missions where each team will earn points to compete against other robots.  The robots will be able make sounds and musical tunes, respond to clapping and other loud noises. We will program them to follow a flash light and we will build a SUMO robot using LEGOS to compete in an epic battle-bot.  Throughout the week, we will be modifying our robots to be bigger and better!  Students will be introduced to Python coding and will be able use coding to program their LEGO Sumo robots for the epic battle.

In the afternoon, students will build their own mini movie set and create an animated movie using LEGO mini figures and other objects created at camp. The students will also learn how to edit their movies and add music, narration and titles using Professional Stop Animation software.
